چکیده

Local properties of image (phase, amplitude and orientation) can be estimated practically using quadrature filters kernel and can be easily represented in two dimensions using the monogenic signal. This powerful feature representation has given rise to robust phase-based edge detection. Nonetheless, it is limited to the class of intrinsically onedimensional signals, such as lines and edges. All other possible local patterns such as corners and junction are of intrinsic dimension two. Our aim in this paper is to present a new edge detection method for extracting local features of any curved signal. It is based on the conformal monogenic signal which is in practical applications compatible with intrinsically one and two-dimensional signal. Using different filters, our model have been tested and compared with classical models and some recent ones. The preliminary results show that our detection technique is more efficient and more accurate.

2D Image Analysis by Generalized Hilbert Transforms in Conformal Space

This work presents a novel rotational invariant quadrature filter approach called the conformal monogenic signal for analyzing i(ntrinsic)1D and i2D local features of any curved 2D signal such as lines, edges, corners and junctions without the use of steering. The conformal monogenic signal contains the monogenic signal as a special case for i1D signals and combines monogenic scale space, phase...

Feasibility of the Application of Moment Of Inertia as a Feature to Study High-Frequency Bands in Brain Signals

Introduction Many features, emerging from mathematical techniques, have been used in the analysis of brain signals. In this study, the physical quantity of “moment of inertia” (MOI) was introduced as a feature to enhance high-frequency waves (HFWs) in electroencephalography (EEG). Materials and Methods In this research, the recorded EEGs from F3, F4, and Cz points in 20 males were used. A total...

The Conformal Monogenic Signal

The conformal monogenic signal is a novel rotational invariant approach for analyzing i(ntrinsic)1D and i2D local features of twodimensional signals (e.g. images) without the use of any heuristics. It contains the monogenic signal as a special case for i1D signals and combines scale-space, phase, orientation, energy and isophote curvature in one unified algebraic framework. The conformal monoge...

Investigating Bhattacharya Hypothesis about the Effect of Dividend Signal on Information Asymmetry Risk: An Earnings Transparency Approach

Information asymmetry in stock market can increase the risk of investment which in turn increases the capital cost of firms. Bhattacharya (1979) proposed a hypothesis that states dividend can act as a powerful signal in order to solve information asymmetry problem. We measured information asymmetry by lack of earnings transparency. Therefore we examine the effect of earnings transparency on cap...

A stereo similarity function based on local multi-model monogenic image feature descriptors LMFD is proposed to match interest points and estimate disparity map for stereo images. Local multi-model monogenic image features include local orientation and instantaneous phase of the gray monogenic signal, local color phase of the color monogenic signal, and local mean colors in the multiscale color...
